About

Texas A&M University is reimagining how students learn about food, product development and entrepreneurship with the Aplin Center. Likewise, the University is expanding the ways community members can experience some of the most enjoyable and delicious aspects of Texas A&M University through the Aplin Center.

Featuring lab space, teaching kitchens, a restaurant, brewery, tasting room, retail space, vertical gardening and outdoor space, the Aplin Center will be an immersive learning laboratory for students unlike any other facility on campus or even in the nation. Students will have the opportunity to manage various aspects of the Aplin Center, giving them a front-row seat to the intersection of business and food – from across the food supply chain.

The Aplin Center is made possible by the generosity of former student Arch “Beaver” Aplin III, owner of Buc-ees. The project will host corporate training and recruiting programs, along with professional development opportunities. Workforce training based on industry needs will be a key component of the center. Texas A&M is already exploring potential collaboration with industry for internship opportunities as students advance through the programs offered at the Aplin Center.

Primary academic partners will be the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Mays Business School, although other academic units will be involved in specialty projects.
